Utopian Drinks, led by Co-Founder and CEO Abhishek Sarwate, is on a mission to redefine healthy living with delicious, nutritious beverages. With a focus on providing fresh, high-quality fruits and vegetables in every bottle, Utopian Drinks aims to make mindful eating fun and accessible, offering a refreshing alternative to junk food, and also bringing freshness to daily life.

How does Utopian Drinks ensure the freshness and nutritional value of the fruits and vegetables used in their beverages, and what are the challenges associated with maintaining this quality in a market-driven production process?

At Utopian, we prioritize hygiene and nutritional values above all else. Ensuring top-quality products is our utmost commitment. To maintain rigorous quality control, we conduct lab testing on every batch of raw materials and perform thorough quality analysis throughout the production process. All tests are conducted in NABL-accredited labs, guaranteeing reliability and precision. Since our products contain zero preservatives and artificial ingredients, we take exceptional care in maintaining hygiene, recognizing their heightened sensitivity to environmental factors.
In what ways can the concept of “mindful eating” be integrated into the business model of Utopian Drinks to not only promote healthy lifestyles but also create awareness about the long-term environmental and societal benefits of sustainable food choices?
Today’s consumers seek more than just hydration—they want a nutrient-packed beverage that goes beyond water. From electrolytes and minerals to a wholesome blend of fruits and vegetables, they expect more, and that’s exactly what Utopian stands for. Our smoothies offer fewer calories, natural sweetness, zero artificial ingredients, and a boost of electrolytes with coconut water.

More than just clean, our smoothies are ultra-beneficial for gut health, energy, and immunity. It’s not just about hydration—it’s a mindful, nourishing, and truly clean smoothie experience.
How does the collaboration between nutrition experts like Dr. Nandini Sarwate and the entrepreneurial team at Utopian Drinks contribute to the development of new, scientifically backed products, and what role does research play in differentiating their drinks from other health-focused beverage companies?
As a clean-label and health-focused brand, we have always been clear about our strategy—creating innovative products backed by science and wellness. As a startup, health remains at the core of our innovation, driving every product we develop.

We use only clean, natural ingredients, incorporating powerful Indian herbs like ashwagandha, tulsi, and green coffee to make our smoothies naturally beneficial for gut health and immunity. With energy derived from fruits and longevity-enhancing benefits from herbs and coconut water, our beverages offer pure nourishment with zero added sugar.
Guided by insights from nutrition experts like Dr. Nandini Sarwate, we take innovation to the next level, crafting clean and healthy products using nature’s best ingredients—without artificial compounds, without compromising on taste, and without sacrificing quality.
How does Utopian Drinks balance the challenge of simplifying healthy eating with the need to maintain the integrity of traditional food practices, especially in terms of using locally sourced ingredients and Indian superfoods like amaranth and turmeric?
India has long been rich in high-quality ingredients that have been an integral part of our daily lives. However, in recent times, we’ve become increasingly influenced by European research, often overlooking the wisdom of our own traditional practices. Our ancestors had a deep understanding of nutrition, incorporating powerful ingredients into daily diets for optimal health.

Take amaranth, for example—an excellent source of calcium, traditionally consumed during fasting. When paired with good fats like ghee, its nutritional benefits are further enhanced. With modernization and westernization, we have gradually moved away from such nutrient-dense foods, leading to micronutrient deficiencies. The same applies to turmeric—a natural healer known for its gut and immunity-boosting properties. While it requires only small daily doses, the shift towards Western diets, heavy in pizza and pasta, has contributed to a decline in its consumption, further exacerbating nutritional gaps.
At Utopian, our smoothies help bridge this gap by delivering essential nutrients in a simple, mindful way—allowing you to achieve your health goals without making drastic changes to your existing routine. You can now enjoy your pizza with our delicious smoothies and enhance your pizza.
Considering the growing trend of health-conscious consumers, how does Utopian Drinks differentiate itself from other health-focused beverage brands in terms of product development, sustainability, and the ethical sourcing of ingredients?
As a brand—and as founders—we are deeply self-conscious and self-aware individuals. We have always believed in building a strong foundation and a clear vision, ensuring that our legacy and values flow through the entire ecosystem.
We never cut corners when it comes to sourcing the highest-quality ingredients for our customers. We take pride in procuring everything locally, supporting Indian suppliers and promoting the use of homegrown produce.

Sustainability is at the heart of our journey. We began with polypropylene bottles, which are safer and reusable compared to PET bottles. Now, we are exploring Tetra Pak packaging to further enhance our commitment to eco-friendly and sustainable practices.
What role do the personal experiences of the founders, Shweta and Abhishek, play in shaping the company’s approach to nutrition, and how do their individual lifestyles and health journeys contribute to the overall brand philosophy of Utopian Drinks?
Coming from a corporate background, we were always caught up in busy schedules, often looking for quick fixes to balance our diet and lifestyle. Pre-cooked meals and instant juices became our go-to choices.
However, by the time we turned 28, we became more health-conscious and started making efforts to improve our diet and exercise routine. Balancing this with our hectic work life was a challenge. During our onsite travels abroad, we noticed a significant gap—other countries had an abundance of healthier, no-sugar options, whereas in India, such choices were limited.
This sparked a simple yet powerful idea: to make better-for-you packaged foods readily available in office spaces, offering a convenient and nutritious option for busy professionals. Our brand philosophy is clear—to become India’s No. 1 brand for safe, healthy, and tasty food choices.
When did you and Shweta Tare started your journey?

We started our journey in Aug 2023, when we officially launched with our smoothies. We have been in operations for 1.5 years and now are looking at a steady growth with General Trade stores, Co working places and now with quick commerce as well.
How does the combination of mangoes and honey in Utopian’s Mango Superrr juice not only enhance the flavor but also align with modern nutritional trends that emphasize natural, whole-food ingredients and their impact on immune health and digestion?
The combination of mangoes and honey enhances flavor while aligning with modern nutritional trends focused on natural, whole-food ingredients. Mangoes are rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, and fiber, boosting immunity and digestion, while honey adds antibacterial properties and prebiotic benefits for gut health. This natural pairing offers clean-label sweetness, replacing artificial sugars, and provides functional hydration and sustained energy without crashes.

Mangoes’ digestive enzymes and honey’s gut-friendly compounds support smoother digestion, making the juice both nourishing and refreshing. As consumers shift towards whole-food, plant-based nutrition, this blend delivers immune support, better digestion, and natural energy in a minimally processed way. It perfectly fits the demand for healthy, functional beverages that go beyond hydration, offering great taste with real benefits.
Tell us about your recent appearance on Shark Tank. Your learning and takeaways.
Being on Shark Tank was a fantastic opportunity to connect with customers and showcase our product’s benefits. One key takeaway from the sharks was the need to refine our packaging and naming strategy. As engineers, we’ve always focused on the product itself, but we soon realized that naming wasn’t our strong suit.

“Utopian” has been challenging for people to pronounce and understand, which made us rethink our approach. When naming our next set of products, we opted for something simpler and more relatable—Detox. This journey taught us that effective branding requires clarity and simplicity, without the need for a complex backstory.
The experience was incredible, with all the sharks enjoying our products and showing genuine interest in our business. Viraj Sir from Veeba encouraged us to reconnect once we hit a certain MRR. We’re confident in our trajectory and believe we can become India’s next Real or Tropicana with a little nudge and help from the sharks.
