Paris, France – March 24, 2025 – Renowned international fashion designer, UN Women Member, and UNESCO Transforming Education Advisor, Priyanka Mallick, attended the Global Education Coalition Annual Member Meeting virtually from UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, France. She delivered a powerful address on gender equality, gender-transformative education, and the urgent need for strong international intervention to protect Afghan women’s right to education.
A Call for Gender Equality & Education for Afghan Women
In her speech, Priyanka Mallick emphasized that education is the key to women’s empowerment, calling on world leaders to take immediate action to restore Afghan women’s right to education.
“Denying education to women is not just an attack on their rights but a setback for humanity. Afghan women must have the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to society. I urge the global community to stand together and take strong international action to restore their fundamental rights,” she stated.
