For us, sustainability isn’t a trade-off with luxury—it’s a part of it. At Dorabi, luxury means thoughtfulness: clothes that are hand-dyed, kind to the planet, and made to last across seasons and trends. And with Aamili, sustainability shows up in the form of timeless workwear silhouettes made from 100% cotton, tailored for all-day comfort. We’re proving that you don’t have to choose between looking sharp and doing right by the planet.
In what ways do ethical production practices influence the final aesthetic and quality of your designs?
We work closely with artisans and local units—nothing is rushed, and nothing is mass-produced. This slower, more conscious process means our clothes carry a human touch. Every dye pattern at Dorabi, for example, is unique. That’s not just a production story—it’s the reason the piece feels special. At Aamili, you can see the care in every seam; that’s what gives our workwear its elevated, finished feel.
How does the concept of dynamic silhouettes redefine traditional fashion narratives while ensuring comfort and versatility?
We design clothes that move with you—literally and metaphorically. Whether it’s a fluid co-ord from Dorabi or a sharply tailored cotton blazer from Aamili, the idea is the same: wear it to a meeting, brunch, or even a festive get-together, and it fits in. We’re moving away from “occasion-based fashion” and leaning into pieces that are expressive, flattering, and incredibly wearable.
What role does 100% cotton play in shaping consumer perception of quality, and how do you innovate within this material choice?
Cotton has a reputation for being basic, but we’re showing people how it can be brilliant. At both brands, 100% cotton is our canvas—it’s breathable, natural, and perfect for India’s climate. What we do differently is how we cut, dye, and construct it. Whether it’s toxin-free Shibori in Dorabi’s pieces or perfectly tailored silhouettes in Aamili’s, cotton becomes something that feels premium without trying too hard.
How do you ensure that your premium tailoring techniques remain relevant in an industry increasingly driven by fast fashion and automation?
We don’t chase trends—we build wardrobes. Our tailoring focuses on flattering real bodies, and our sizing runs from XXS to 5XL. In an age of quick fixes and algorithms, we believe people still notice when something fits right and feels right. That’s what keeps our customers coming back—once they experience that level of detail, they don’t want to go back to cookie-cutter fashion.

The Jade dress is honestly a mood-lifter. It’s bold yet relaxed, structured yet flowy. You can dress it up with heels or throw on flats and wear it to the office—it adapts to you. We designed it for the woman who’s juggling 10 things a day and still wants to feel beautiful, powerful, and at ease in her skin.
How does the Maeven Dress embody the intersection of classic tailoring and contemporary design, redefining power dressing for the modern, style-conscious woman?
The Maeven Dress is our love letter to functional fashion. It’s got clean lines, strong shoulders, and just the right amount of movement. It’s power dressing without the stiffness—professional but never boring. It’s made for women who lead with grace and grit, and want their clothes to reflect that balance.
When did the founders start their journey as entrepreneurs?
Our entrepreneurial journey began in 2021 with a brand called Neraya. It didn’t work out the way we hoped, but it taught us everything we needed to know. That experience gave us clarity—about the market, our strengths, and the kind of impact we wanted to create. In 2022, we launched two purpose-driven brands:
Dorabi, which was born from the desire to make sustainability an everyday thing—not something intimidating or “alternative.” We wanted to bring joy, colour, and movement into people’s wardrobes using traditional techniques like Shibori, but with a modern, wearable twist. And Aamili, which filled a personal gap we felt in the market: elevated, breathable workwear for Indian women. Tailored, versatile, and all-day comfortable. Both brands are built from lessons learned—and from a place of deep belief in thoughtful fashion.
