When did you started your journey as an creator?

I started my content creation journey in May 2024. Initially, it was just a hobby—I never imagined it could turn into a serious career. At that time, content creation felt overcrowded, and I didn’t see a clear future in it.

Before this, I was working in an MNC after graduating from the University of Delhi, but I never felt aligned with a 9-to-5 routine. Due to certain personal reasons, I took a break from work, which led to a gap year. During this phase, I came across the concept of UGC, where content quality matters more than follower count. That idea resonated with me, and I started creating content consistently, purely out of interest.

Coming from a small city like Dehradun, where the creator ecosystem is limited, I didn’t have many people to look up to. This pushed me to learn independently and build my own path. A major turning point came when one of my lipstick swatch reels went viral, crossing over 5 million views. After that, brands began reaching out, and content creation slowly became a source of income for me.

Today, even without a massive follower base, my focus on content quality and consistency has helped me work with multiple brands. What I once earned in a month at a 9-to-5 job, I can now earn in a day through content creation. This journey taught me that consistency, professionalism, and quality matter far more than numbers. I’m still learning every day, but content creation has given me both creative freedom and financial independence—something I never experienced before.

How do fashion and beauty function as cultural languages in today’s world, and what do they reveal about identity beyond aesthetics?

Today, fashion and makeup are no longer just about looking beautiful. They have become a way for people to express their identity, confidence and self love. Beauty is no longer limited to one gender and makeup has evolved into a form of personal expression and skill. When someone does makeup well, it reflects their confidence and individuality.

Personally I see fashion and makeup as a form of self love. They don’t change who we are, but enhance our natural, God-gifted features and help us present ourselves the way we want to be seen.

In an era of fast consumption, what does “timeless style” truly mean to you, and how can the industry reclaim it authentically?

For me, timeless style in makeup is something that enhances natural features. A clean base that suits your skin tone, well defined eyes, natural brows, and lashes will always look elegant. I personally love eye definition, and a bold lip especially a dark red or cherry shade will always feel timeless to me.

In fashion, timeless style is closely linked to confidence and comfort. Indian sarees, for me, are a powerful expression of confidence and grace. Pairing a saree with classic stilettos adds strength and elegance to the look, making it feel timeless.

Do you believe beauty standards are expanding or simply evolving into new forms of pressure? How should creators respond responsibly?

I believe beauty standards are expanding, not turning into new pressure. Today, the beauty industry creates products for different skin tones, undertones, and skin types. There was a time when fair skin was seen as the standard, but now people are slowly accepting their natural skin because representation has improved.The same change is visible in fashion, where different body types are being represented. This has helped people feel more confident and accepted.

With this change, creators also have a responsibility. People trust creators and often make decisions based on their recommendations. So being honest matters more than anything. Early in my journey, I worked with many brands without thinking much. But as my audience grew, I realised that trust is more important than money.

 

Now, I choose to work with very few brands. I prefer testing products myself and sharing honest opinions. I believe creators should value their audience’s trust and not promote something they don’t truly believe in.

How has sustainability shifted from being a moral choice to a creative challenge within fashion and beauty?

Brands are trying to reduce waste while still creating products that look good and perform well, but there is still a long way to go. In beauty, I’ve seen a few brands encouraging customers to return their empty products, and some designing packaging that can be reused as an organiser or decor item.

In fashion as well, a few brands accept old clothes to promote reuse instead of waste. However, at the moment, only a limited number of brands are genuinely thinking in this direction. As a creator, I appreciate brands that prioritise quality over quantity.

Lipstick has long been a symbol of power and self-expression—how does your brand reinterpret that symbolism for today’s generation?

For me, lipstick is one of the most powerful parts of makeup. If you look at my page, you’ll see how deeply I connect with it I’ve swatched and reviewed hundreds of lipsticks, and my vanity itself reflects that love.

I believe lipstick has the power to instantly change how you feel. Even on days when you’re not wearing any makeup, applying one beautiful shade can completely uplift your mood and confidence. Lipstick comes in so many colours, just like life—there’s a shade for every mood, every occasion, and every personality.

2. Kiro – An Indian brand with top-notch liquid lipsticks. The quality they offer in this price range feels genuinely worth it.
3. Maybelline – I love how they create great lipsticks at an affordable price. My favourite range is Super Stay Vinyl Ink.
4. L’Oréal Paris – I’m a huge fan of their Infallible Matte lipsticks for their quality and finish.
5. Swiss Beauty – One of my favourite affordable brands. Their lipstick range is reliable and value for money.
What does beauty mean to you when makeup is used not to transform, but to communicate identity and emotion?

For me, beauty has nothing to do with having a perfect face. Beauty comes from within. It’s not about what you have, but about how you see others and how you carry yourself. Makeup, for me, is not about transforming who I am. It’s about enhancing my natural features and expressing how I want to be seen. Some days I want to feel confident, some days soft, some days bold and makeup gives me that freedom. That, for me, is what beauty truly means.
