This goal was rather symbolic for DR Congo since it was there first goal in a world cup and against a mighty team Portugal is truly a commendable factor. Fans were joyed throughout the stadium and all around the world.
Portugal dominated possession for the entire match but lacked efficiency at the front which severely hampered Portugal’s progress throughout the match.

DR Congo’s solid defence frustrated the Portuguese attackers and their counter attack was at par with experienced nations at the world. Their counter attack was one of their key weapons and was evidently effective throughout the match.
The result of the match was rather disappointing for the Portuguese fans but for DR Congo fans it will be a night to remember. This shows that all teams whether experienced or inexperienced have a chance to make it through the world cup and no team should be taken for granted.0
