Indian President Draupadi Murmu handed the Arjuna Award to Indian equestrian players Anush Agarwala and Divyakriti Singh in Delhi. This occurred at the National Sports and Adventure Awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 9 January 2024. There were twenty-six para-athletes, and athletes were awarded Arjuna Awards. Including Satwik and Chirag, they were eyeing an Olympic Medal. Anush Agarwala and Divyakriti Singh secured India’s third gold at Hangzhou in 2023.

Anush Agar Walla, who rode his horse Etro, was the lot pick, scoring 71.088. Meanwhile, Divyakriti Singh and her horse Adrenalin Firfod were handed 68.176. India finished with a score of 209.205, approximately higher than second-placed China’s 204.882. Anush Agarwala stole the game with a magical score of 71.088, whereas Divyakriti scored 68.176. Together, they ensured no team even came close to their combination score.

They have acknowledged the second-highest sporting recognition. The Arjuna Award is given to athletes who are terrific, confident, disciplined leaders and have given their best in the past few years. Indian fast bowler MD. Shami received the Arjuna Award from Indian President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Satwik and Chirag were given the most reputable Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award for their fantastic achievements in 2023.

They guarded a gold in Badminton as India’s maiden Asian Games. Capped the Asian Championships name and won the Indonesia Open Super 1000 label. Presently, Satwik and Chirag are ranked world No.1, and as they are beholding an Olympic medal in Paris, they are virtually tied for their qualification.

Awards and Champions

Grandmaster R. Vaishali for Chess. Esha Singh is awarded for Pistol shooting. She won a tough competition in the Asian Olympic Qualifiers. Antim Panghal for wrestling, Mohammad Hussamuddin for boxing, and Sheetal Devi received for para-archer. India’s Anush Agarwala secured a bronze medal in the individual dressage game of the equestrian competition at the Asian Games. 

Dronacharya awardees displayed the chess coach RB Ramesh, who is identified for developing talent like Praggnanandhaa. The Khel Ratna presents with a prize of ₹25 lakh. Meanwhile, the Arjuna and Dronacharya Awards hold an award of ₹15 lakh.

Ojas Pravin Deotale and Aditi Gopichand Swami for archery. Murali Sree Shankar and Parul Chaudhary are the athletes. Mohammad Hussamuddin received it for boxing. R Vaishali, the chess grandmaster, and Mohammed Shami, the Indian fast bowler, were handed outstanding performances in cricket. Anush Agarwala is for equestrian. Divyakriti Singh was also for equestrian dressage.
Diksha Dagar got it for golf. Krishan Bahadur Pathak is for hockey. Sheetal Devi is for para-archery, Illuri Ajay Kumar Reddy is for blind cricket, and Prachi Yadav is for para-canoeing. Anush Agarwala and Divyakriti Singh secured India’s third gold at Hangzhou in 2023. 
This is a proud day for all Indians, especially the award holders. So, they gave their best in games and secured awards and medals for India. The day everyone has waited for has finally come. And India’s brilliant stars deserved the best—an honourable moment for every athlete. Indian President Draupadi Murmu handed every award to their respective athletes.

It’s an honour to be conferred the Arjuna Award. An important milestone in the last year and my sporting journey so far. It has always been a dream for me to represent our country and win medals at important events, and I’m glad I could win the 2 medals at the Asian Games. I am Very happy that my achievements have been acknowledged through a national sporting award. I look forward to working hard and fulfilling my dream of Olympic glory.
