L’Office: Under the guidance of its owner Charles Nikitits, the restaurant has become, since he took it over in 2018, one of the must-visit dining spots in Paris’s 9th arrondissement. Good news this spring: after several months of closure due to a fire, l’Office has just reopened its doors! A perfect opportunity to happily dive back into its inventive menu and enjoy its lovely terrace.

At the helm of l’Office, the chef Julia Totzauer offers French cuisine that gives pride of place to comforting recipes and richly indulgent sauces. While the menu happily draws inspiration from the classics of the French culinary repertoire, it doesn’t shy away from boldness or modernity.

This season, for example, the sea bass tartare is served with miso, pickled red onions, and sesame; smoked beets are paired with roasted fennel, a horseradish mousseline, and a rich jus; the chicken ballotine comes with corn, a red bean condiment, and an epazote jus; pollock is matched with a saffron beurre blanc, glazed turnips, peas, and chorizo; while the dark chocolate soufflé tart is accompanied by a delicious bergamot cream.

These refined, seasonal creations almost make you forget the restaurant’s iconic signature dish: the Beef Wellington. A textbook version, featuring a perfectly cooked beef tenderloin at 218 degrees, remarkably tender, filled with a delicate mushroom duxelles, and wrapped in flawlessly buttery puff pastry.
Beyond the dishes—which alone are worth the visit—people also love coming back to l’Office for its intimate atmosphere, candlelit dinners, minimalist decor, and quintessentially Parisian charm. But above all, from the first warm days of spring until the end of October, for its beautiful wooden and flower-filled terrace with nearly thirty seats! A true gem for enjoying the long sunny days while indulging in great food, right in the heart of Paris.
In short: a timeless address to rediscover without delay in its newly refreshed setting, led by a caring team and a dedicated chef. Long live l’Office 2.0 !
