In a world chasing fast fashion, Beatitude stands as a soulful sanctuary where handwoven heritage meets contemporary luxury. Founded by Akanksha Kanwal Shukla Beatitude is more than a fashion label—it’s a celebration of India’s rich textile traditions, brought to life through the skilled hands of weavers and the artistic minds of designers. With a GLOCAL approach, Beatitude bridges the gap between local craftsmanship and global admiration, curating heirloom pieces that whisper stories of culture, passion, and purpose.

When did you start your journey as an entrepreneur?
2015. It started with a simple dream — to take Indian traditions global while empowering artisans back home.
How does Beatitude balance the preservation of traditional weaving techniques with the demands of contemporary fashion trends?

At Beatitude, we believe tradition is timeless. We work closely with artisans to preserve ancient techniques like Jamdani, Kanjeevaram, and Banarasi weaving, while our design team reinterprets them through modern silhouettes, lighter drapes, and versatile colors — making heritage relevant for today’s global audience without compromising authenticity.
In what ways does your GLOCAL approach influence the design process and storytelling of each handcrafted piece?

Our GLOCAL philosophy — “Think Global, Act Local” — means every design carries the spirit of India but speaks a universal language. We fuse traditional craftsmanship with global sensibilities, allowing every saree to tell a story that’s rooted in Indian heritage yet appeals to a modern, sophisticated world citizen.
Can you share the collaborative journey between your in-house designers, textile engineers, and local weavers in creating a single saree?
Creating a Beatitude saree is a soulful collaboration. It begins with the designers conceptualizing a vision inspired by culture, nature, or history. Textile engineers then adapt that vision into technical weaving blueprints, ensuring durability and finesse.

Our master weavers, often with generations of knowledge, bring it to life — thread by thread — sometimes taking 30–90 days for a single piece. Every saree, therefore, is not just worn — it’s lived.
How does Beatitude ensure ethical production practices while maintaining the exclusivity and luxury appeal of its products?

Ethics and excellence go hand in hand for us. We ensure fair wages, safe working conditions, and respect for every artisan. By limiting production runs and focusing on handmade authenticity, we create pieces that are exclusive by virtue of effort, not mass production. Each saree is a rare treasure, woven with dignity and pride.
What role do cultural narratives and regional identities play in the design philosophy of Beatitude’s collections?

Culture is the heartbeat of every Beatitude collection. We draw from India’s rich tapestry — from the vibrant festivals of Gujarat to the serene ghats of Varanasi. Every motif, color palette, and weave reflects a deeper story of the land and its people, making each collection a tribute to India’s living traditions and a bridge between past and present.
